Op maandag 27 april creëren we op ‘t Schaaphof een ruimte om te vertragen, te luisteren en opnieuw af te stemmen op het land dat ons voedt. Een namiddag voor boeren en landwerkers, voor iedereen die met de handen in de aarde wroet en voelt dat landbouw meer is dan productie alleen — dat het ook gaat over relatie, zorg en betekenis.
Oefenen in waarnemen
We beginnen met een intense oefening in waarnemen samen met Xavier De Keyser. Vanuit de antroposofie nodigt hij uit om het land anders te zien: wat leeft hier werkelijk, wat beweegt, wat vraagt aandacht? Een andere manier van kijken dat het werken met de aarde van binnenuit kan verdiepen.
Verhalen van het land
Daarna volgt een ontmoeting en uitwisseling met Ron Evans, traditionele Métis Elder, mondeling historicus en hoeder van verhalen. Opgegroeid binnen een inheemse gemeenschap in Canada, maar met wortels die ook verbonden zijn met de oude Europese boerengemeenschap, weeft hij oude vertellingen samen tot een brug tussen culturen en tradities. Hij spreekt in een rijke beeldende en symbolische taal, geworteld in een mythologisch wereldbeeld dat uitnodigt om anders te kijken naar aarde, mens en gemeenschap.
Voor Ron staan verhalen nooit los van het leven. Ze ontstaan vanuit een reden — om iets duidelijk te maken, te onderwijzen of gerelateerd aan een ceremonie. Daarom vragen we deelnemers om vooraf vragen te noteren in het inschrijvingsformulier — bij voorkeur vragen rond landbouw, bodem, voedsel, dieren en het leven met het land. Zo kan de ontmoeting werkelijk geworteld zijn in wat hier leeft.
Programma:
12:00 - mogelijkheid om te picknicken (breng je eigen lunch mee)
12:30 – rondleiding op de boerderij (optioneel)
14:00 – korte mystica als opening van de namiddag
14:15 – 15:45 – workshop waarnemen met Xavier De Keyser
16:00 – 19:00 – uitwisseling en verhalen met Ron Evans & José Brown
19:00 – pot luck maaltijd (breng een schotel mee om te delen)

What the earth tells us
On Monday, 27 April, we will create a space at organic farm 't Schaaphof where we can slow down, listen and reconnect with the land that nourishes us.
This is an afternoon for farmers and landworkers, and for anyone whose hands work the soil and senses that agriculture is about more than just production — it is also about relationships, care and meaning.
Deep observation
We will begin with an intense observation exercise guided by Xavier De Keyser. Drawing from anthroposophy, he invites us to see the land differently: What truly lives here? What moves? What calls for attention? This is another way of looking that can enrich our connection with the earth.
Stories of the land
This is followed by an encounter with Ron Evans, a traditional Métis elder, oral historian and keeper of stories. Having been raised in an Indigenous community in Canada and also being connected through his roots to old European farming communities, he weaves ancient tales into a bridge between cultures and traditions. Speaking in a rich, imaginal and symbolic language, he offers a mythological worldview that invites us to see the Earth, human beings and community differently.
For Ron, stories are never separate from life. They arise for a reason—to explain something, to teach, or in connection with a ceremony. That is why we ask participants to write down their questions in advance on the registration form—preferably questions about agriculture, soil, food, animals, and life on the land. This allows the meeting to be truly rooted in what lives here.
